Walk.Eat.Talk (2013)
Walk.Eat.Talk was a project created and presented in collaboration with Auckland Theatre Company (ATC) in association with Auckland Arts Festival 2013 as part of AUT Dominion Road Stories.
A dumpling sized promenade theatrical project with surprising encounters in Dominion Road's Chinese restaurant district, at the intersection of Balmoral and Dominion Roads, designed as a conduit for ATC to get to know their neighbourhood when they first moved into their current premises in Balmoral.
The side streets, alleyways, and restaurants on and off Dominion Road became the stage for a surprising outdoor adventure. Participants discovered the neighbourhood through the stories of long-time and recent residents. Culminating in a shared meal at one of the local steamboat restaurants and was designed to delight the senses and challenge people's assumptions.
